This R&F Encaustic 1 LB Bag of Dammar Resin Crystals is a Raw Material for use as an additive to help harden the waxes in encaustic painting. It comes in pellet form, giving the user the ability to use as much or as little product as they need, with little to no waste. Solvent free. Damar is a hard natural resin that comes from a family of deciduous trees that grow in the East Indies. Damar resin is used to harden the beeswax and raise its melting temperature. Damar allows the wax to be buffed to a higher, more translucent surface and helps prevent blooming.
